For summer 2027, we are opening a paid internship for the most talented students of mathematics, physics, and computer science. A small team of interns gets real market data, our internal tools, and one task: design a pricing and execution strategy the way our quant teams do. You work like a startup. You split the roles, set up your own workflow, and take the project from the first research all the way to presenting the results. Experienced quants guide you throughout. Applications are open now.

Qminers Summer Internship 2027
What You Will Do
- You start with an onboarding into trading: how exchanges work, what the data looks like, and what a fair price means. No prior knowledge of markets is expected.
- You work in a team with the other interns. You split the roles, agree on an approach, and own the result together, just like in a real startup.
- Together with the team, you model the fair price and design how to trade on it: at what price, in what size, when, and with how much risk.
- As a team, you design and code your own simulator, test your hypotheses in it, and choose metrics that reveal the true value of your results.
- You write Python code in a shared repository, with code review, the way we do.
- A stand-up every morning, a checkpoint with a senior quant every week. You get guidance and feedback, not ready-made solutions.
- At the end, you present your results to the whole firm. We offer successful interns a part-time or full-time role working on real tasks in one of our teams.
Most of our day is thinking, arguing toward the best solution, and coding. We like results reasonably fast, in both development and runtime, and we give people real room to run and a direct line to the result.
Who We Are
Qminers is a Prague-based algorithmic trading firm competing on four continents, 24/7. Founded in 2012, we delivered a Sharpe ratio above 10 year after year for a decade. We are a team of around 50: mathematicians, quants, software engineers, and machine learning researchers.
Excellence is not a slogan here, it is the baseline.
Requirements
Must have
- You study mathematics, physics, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related technical field. Your year of study matters less to us than what you can do.
- You have excellent academic results. Grades really do matter to us.
- You have a track record in olympiads or competitions in mathematics, physics, or programming, such as national math or physics olympiads, IMO, IOI, or ICPC. For the internship, this is one of the strongest signals we look at.
- You have basic programming experience, ideally in Python.
- You think with rigorous logic and can explain your reasoning clearly.
- You take ownership of your work and don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do next.
- You work well with others. You can split the work, ask for help, and stand up for your view without talking over anyone.
Nice to have
- You know some statistics, probability, or the basics of machine learning. At this stage, though, we don’t expect it.
- You have experience with Git and working on code as a team. If not, you will learn it here.
For the whole internship, you receive CZK 110,000 gross. This is paid work on a real problem, not a student side job. For us, the internship is not a one-off event. We offer the best interns a part-time position that fits around their schedule. We want a long-term relationship, not just one summer.
Our Culture
The best argument wins.
Meritocracy is in our DNA.
You own the outcome.
Responsibility here is total, the wins and the mistakes alike.
Your rivals are outside, not inside.
Excellent colleagues are the elevator up, not the competition.
